In short
You don’t need an account to use HappyNear. We don’t ask for your name, email or phone number. We use your location only to show deals near you.
Location
The app and widget use your device’s location to find nearby venues and deals. Your location is not tied to an account and is not stored; it is sent to our server only to fetch nearby deals. When you share a photo, your location at that moment is stored with the submission to confirm the photo was taken near the venue.
Anonymous device ID
The app creates a random ID on your device. It is used for the QR pass, the daily photo limit and statistics. For statistics we store only a one-way hash of it.
Statistics
We show venues how many times their deals were seen, opened and navigated to, as counts that don’t identify you.
Photos you share
Board and poster photos you send are processed by an AI service (Anthropic Claude) to read the deal and are kept for the venue’s approval. Please don’t send photos where people’s faces can be recognized.
Venues
For venue owners using the business panel we store an email address (for sign-in) and venue details.
Service providers
We process data with Supabase (hosted in Frankfurt, Europe), Cloudflare, and Anthropic for photo reading. We don’t sell your data or use it for advertising.
